Solitude

Solitude3380via Photo Challenge: Solitude

Their sound of freedom quietens my soul
Songs they've sang for days unnumbered

Tunes that all of earth responds to
Melodies untaught but perfect in rhythm

Their songs can calm and soothe the weary
With pauses for mankind to write out new clauses

Calls and response succeeding each other
Unity unplanned engraved in their hearts

Black, white or colored, in nests and on branches
Awakening the earth with music at sun rise

Sure of each day, without thought nor labor
Peace unrivaled realized by living
