Edge of glory

For those who walk through life Anonymous
Doing the odd jobs that make all our lives better
The man who tows the snow before we wake up to start our cars
The woman who sweeps off falling leaves from autumn trees
The one who cleans the window so we can see the sky and wonder
The ones who clears the garbage so we can have fresh air to breath
To those who purify the water that flows into our taps
and the ones who drain our sewage pipe so our environments are safe
To the man who’s planting a new tree today,
To the woman who’s plowing the garden today,
You keep us off precipices we can’t even phantom
Though you stand behind, sometimes outside when folks are honored
Your commitment to what you do is in itself glorious
and soon you’ll walk past the edge of that glory.
